This 20″stoneware platter was hand built with a fluted flage, terra- sigged, burnished in the center and then bisqued. After, the edge of the platter was painted with a clear glaze and the body draped with combustible materials (salt, steel wool, seaweed) and wrapped for a saggar firing in my exterior wood/sawdust kiln. It is a unique artistic piece suitable for display or to hold dry goods. It is not safe for food.
